House rules subject to change, users will be notified via [email protected].

At the scanners

General

  • Book 15 minutes extra than the real scanning time is. So you have enough time for placing the participant in the scanner.
  • Please conduct an MRI-safety check before your participant comes to the Center. Otherwise it is possible that they come but are not allowed to go inside the scanner.
  • When you are scanning at least one BHV-er (in-house emergency response officer) has to be present. During office hours (currently Mon-Fri 9-17) BHV-trained staff is present / on call, outside these hours you should arrange your own BHV-er or request a scanning assistent.
  • When scanning patients and/or populations with an increased risk of medical emergencies, you should scan with a minimum of two persons.
  • If you are scanning a participant/patient who is accompanied by a family member or friend, this person should wait in the waiting room. They are not allowed in the control room. Exceptions can be made if the subject are not (fully) competent ('wilsbekwaam').
  • If the scanner shows any errors, please write this down in the logbooks with data (in English please). Additionally make a screen shot and save this in E:\Export\errors (using MS Paint).
  • Do not eat at the scanner console.
  • If you have visitors, let them fill in the visitor screening form before entering the control rooms.
  • Do not unneccessarily enter the control rooms while other researchers are scanning.
  • Don’t leave boxes or equipment on the floor. The floor has to be cleared.
  • The toilet in the dressing room next to the scanner is intended for use by disabled people only. Please use the toilet around the corner.
  • Don't shower in the dressing room next to the scanner. The shower head is intended for washing your hair which can be done above the basin. (Pieter)

Mock scanner

  • Don't manually close the sliding door, this will cause it to malfunction.

After scanning

  • Always lock the scanner room and place the key in the locker when you leave the scanner room and after you are finished, or hand it to the MR operator of the next experiement.

When you are the last person scanning for the day

  • Log off from the scanner computer but leave it switched on, otherwise the scanner selftest cannot run.
  • Unplug the head coil of the 3T scanner and place the caps on the plugs.
  • Switch off the lights in the scanner bore [gaat dit niet vanzelf als je uitlogt? - Pieter], as well as in the scanner and control rooms.

To add and give a proper place

  • Cancellation policy
  • What to do when someone rings the doorbell:
    • ask for name and reason
    • contact person they have appointment with (if not yourself)

  • Don't change peripheral equipment settings or revert them to default after finishing experiment.
  • Don't schedule an EEG-fMRI experiment on the day of or after Philips maintenance.
  • Please take completed screening forms with you, the Spinoza does not archive these and will dispose of them after one week.
