Setup & hardware
These example sequences are all readily available on our 7T scanner with the default "MultiX" setup:
- Scanner: Philips Achieva 7.0T
- Coil: Nova Medical 32 channel receive / 8 channel transmit head coil
The sequences can be found on the scanner console in the folder <to be added>.
Basic parameters of example sequences
This section lists the (acquired) resolution, echo time, repetition time, and scan time of the example sequences.
Structural
- T1 MPRAGE: 0.8 mm isotropic, TE/TR = 3.3/12 ms, scan time = 5:50 (whole head)
- 3D FLAIR: 1.0×1.2×1.2 mm, TE/TR = 300/8000 ms, scan time = <ca. 5 mins> (whole head)
- T2w TSE: 0.7 mm isotropic, TE/TR = 297/3200 ms, scan time = 10:24 (whole head, 2 averages)
Quantitative data
- T1 map (MP2RAGE): 0.9 mm isotropic, TE/TR = 2.9/6.5 ms, scan time = 10:24 (whole head)
- T2* map (ME-GRE): 0.8 mm isotropic, TE/TR = 3.0/31 ms, scan time = 4:57 (whole head)
Vascular
- TOF-MRA whole brain (140 mm): 0.4×0.6×1.0 mm, TE/TR = 3.5/12 ms, scan time = 2:31
- TOF-MRA lenticulostriates (50 mm): 0.36×0.36×0.6 mm, TE/TR = 3.7/15 ms, scan time = 4:59
- SWI: 0.6×0.6×2.0 mm, TE/TR = 7.2/31 ms, scan time = 5:15 (whole brain)

Reconstruction
Most example sequences are automatically reconstructed on the scanner, and can be exported as DICOM or PAR/REC files (see DataExport for more information).
Although the MP2RAGE T1 maps can be automatically reconstructed on the scanner using an MrCodeTools "PRIDE" tool, an offline Matlab reconstruction tool can be used to achieve more flexible reconstructions and signal masking. Likewise, a Matlab script is available for T2* map reconstruction. Please contact Thijs de Buck ([email protected]) if you want to use the Matlab tools.
