House rules subject to change, users will be notified via [email protected].
General
- MRI-scans should be performed by a certified researcher or scanning assistant. See [page X] for procedure for becoming certified as MR operator.
- Book 15 minutes extra than the real scanning time is. So you have enough time for placing the participant in the scanner.
- Please conduct an MRI-safety check before your participant comes to the Center. Otherwise it is possible that they come but are not allowed to go inside the scanner.
- When you’re scanning at least one BHV-er (in-house emergency officer) has to be present in the building. The Spinoza staff will take care of a BHV-er during office hours [currently Mon-Fri 9-17].
- When scanning patients, you should scan with a minimum of 2 persons.
- If you are scanning a [healthy competent, otherwise you might make an exception]participant/patient who is accompanied by a family member or friend, this person should wait in the waiting room. They are not allowed in the control room.
- If the scanner shows any errors, please write this down in the logbooks with data (in English please). [Make screen shot, save in E:\Export\errors]
- Do not lend your badge to someone else
- Do not eat in the control room
- If you have visitors, let them fill in the visitor screenings form before entering the control rooms
- If possible do not disturb other researchers while they are busy scanning
- If you scan outside office hours, please let the security in the AMC (?) know that you are in the building.
- Don’t leave boxes or equipment on the floor. The floor has to be cleared.
- Don't use the toilet in the dressing room next to the scanner, this is intended for disabled people only. Use the toilet around the corner instead. (Trijntje/Pieter)
- Don't shower in the dressing room next to the scanner. The shower head is intended for washing your hair which can be done above the basin. (Pieter)
- Switch off the lights when you leave a room. Switch of the floor lights if you're the last person to leave. Switch off 'occupied' lights when you finish experiement
Mock scanner
- Don't manually close the sliding door, this will cause it to malfunction.
After scanning
- Always lock the scanner room and place the key in the locker when you leave the scanner room and after you are finished, or hand it to the MR operator of the next experiement.
When you are the last person scanning for the day
- Log off from the scanner computer but leave it switched on, otherwise the scanner selftest cannot run.
- Unplug the head coil of the 3T scanner and place the caps on the plugs.
- Switch off the lights in the scanner bore [gaat dit niet vanzelf als je uitlogt? - Pieter], as well as in the scanner and control rooms.
To add and give a proper place
- Cancellation policy
- What to do when someone rings the doorbell:
- ask for name and reason
- contact person they have appointment with (if not yourself)
- Don't change peripheral equipment settings or revert them to default after finishing experiment.
- Don't schedule EEG-fMRI the day of or after Philips maintenance is planned.
- Lock the patio doors when you leave the office floor and no one else is around.
- Save your own screening forms.
pilot experiments
- In principle no more than X hours, in special cases in overleg bepaald (met project PI)
