Sumiya is a PhD Candidate in the lab of Prof. Serge Dumoulin. She is originally from Canada and graduated from the Neurasmus Masters in Neuroscience with dual degrees from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and the Université de Bordeaux. In her Masters, her research focus was on multi-modal image processing and analysis of the mouse brain using fluorescence microscopy and diffusion MRI. Her PhD research focuses on investigating how visual attention modulates population receptive field (pRF) dynamics in the human brain using modelling and ultra high field (7 Tesla) MRI.
