Hans Op de Beeck

In my research group we investigate the neural basis of visual cognition and learning through an interdisciplinary approach. We combine methods from behavioral sciences (psychophysics) with advanced brain imaging (fMRI) in humans, extracellular single-neuron recordings in rodents, and computational modeling with artificial neural networks. We also apply this methodological expertise in the context of brain disorders, in particular neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, dyslexia, and dyscalculia.
